Sunday School/Vacation Bible School

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday School is held at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings from September to May. Please see the calendar tab on this website for cancellations or special events regarding the Sunday School.

The instruction of youth has always played an important part in the life of the congregation. Some work was carried on already in the early 1900s, but it was largely conducted in the Norwegian language. The Sunday School was first organized in the last 1930s by Miss Olga Mikelson and Mrs. Louis Hagen. At first, the work was conducted from Easter to Christmas but was changed to coincide with the public-school year from September to June.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School is conducted for three days sometime during the summer months. Bible lessons are studied along with crafts and music. Oftentimes, Vacation Bible School brings visiting children to our classes. One of the favorite songs the children learn during VBS is called “Going on a Lion Hunt” led by Pastor Mike. The children and congregational members look forward to the new version of it each summer.
